Christmas Tree Hunt & Tree Lighting

Saturday was a beautiful winter day perfect for picking out our Christmas tree. We met Dad and Janie and headed out to our favorite tree farm.
The kids were all bundled up against the frost and couldn't wait to get out and pick the tree. On the drive out, Lucas said he had an idea that the boys should go one way and the girls should go the other. He is growing up so fast! But, once we got there we all headed out in the same direction.
It didn't take long before Lucas found the tree he wanted.
"Please can we get this tree Mama?" You bet buddy! He did pick a nice tree so it was hard to argue against it!
Lucas and Travis cut it down.
Lexie wanted a closer look.

Then Lexie took Grandma and Grandpa's hands and led them off to find their tree. She is a good helper like that!

They finally found their tree and it was a big one so it took a lot of sawing to cut it down. Dad needed a little rest once he was done : )
A perfect Christmas tree and a fun day with the grandparents - success! Lexie and Grandma Janie walking back to the trucks.

Then Lucas got a real treat and got to drive back up to the top to pick up the tree with Papa.
Daddy and Lexie.
Later that night Mom came over and we took the kids down to the tree lighting ceremony. It was really cold so we got all decked out in coats, hats and even snow pants!

Both kids sat on Santa's lap without any hesitation.
