Fourth of July Fun

We were very excited for the 4th of July this year, especially the kids. Lexie was eagerly anticipating the "birthday party" and Lucas was looking forward to spending the holiday with his friends and his cousins.
Lucas and I made some yummy cupcakes and then Tracy created these pinwheels to decorate them with.
Aunt Tracy braided Lexie's hair - so cute!
All dressed up in her happy birthday outfit.

Our traditional 4th of July family photo.
We had a neighborhood block party again this year and there were several stations set up for the kids to enjoy. Here Kelsea is helping Lexie go fishing.
Lexie was very excited when Grandma Sharpie showed up to celebrate with us!
One of Lucas' favorite parts of the festivities is the slides. Unfortunately it was too cold and windy this year to turn on the water.
Lexie really enjoyed the cookie decorating station.
Oh, no . . . here comes trouble with a wagon full of fireworks!
Lexie also enjoyed the cake walk and especially the frosting!
Lucas liked this part too!
We were happy to have Jason, Tracy and the kids here to help us celebrate.
Tracy even painted my nails - very patriotic!
One big, happy family!

And then being pushed in her car down to the bike parade.
It's great getting a push from cousin Kelsea!
Lucas in the bike parade, he thought this was great fun!
And, more frosting!
The kids couldn't wait to light off the fireworks and were not disappointed. Lexie spent the entire night throwing snaps and having a ball. It was a very fun 4th of July!
