Poor Lucas has had a rough week! First stitches and now a broken arm. He was playing with a neighbor yesterday, tripped, fell on his arm and broke it. He and I spent a long time in the ER yesterday and came out with some good news and some bad news. The good news is he does not need surgery. The bad news is it is broken and will have to be in a cast for a month. This is just a sad picture!
This is a picture the doctor drew us in the ER. It is showing that he has a fracture right above his elbow. If he keeps it still it will heal just fine but if he moves it, it could still break more and require surgery. Obviously we do not want that!
He did enjoy calling all the grandparents last night and telling them about his ordeal! We sent him off to school today so hopefully everything goes well there. I talked to his teacher this morning and her daughter did the same thing when she was in kindergarten so I feel like he is in good hands today. It's still hard not to worry about my baby!
