The Cast is Off!

Yesterday Lucas got his cast off! So exciting!

First we had to get more x-rays so the doctor could see if it had healed properly. Lucas did a great job following instructions and holding still.
While we waited in the doctor's office I took a "before" picture.

Then a tech came in and cut his cast off. The saw was crazy loud so I had to hold his ears and then it was pried off of him. It came off without any problems.

I thought his arm was going to be really gross because I remember how mine was when I got my cast off (disgusting!) but Luke's wasn't too bad. The only thing was he had this tattoo on his hand when he broke his arm and when the cast came off it was still there! His hand was a little dirty but other than that it looked good.

And, here is the "after" photo. The doctor came in and said his elbow had healed well and looked good. We go back in a few weeks for a follow-up just to make sure. In the meantime, he is getting used to having his arm back.
