Fourth of July Fun

We had a nasty cold running through our family over the weekend starting with Lexie, then continuing on to Lucas and I. Even though we were a little under the weather we still wanted to join in the neighborhood block party fun! Jason, Seth and Tyler drove over to spend the holiday with us and we were excited to have them here!

We started the day off with our annual 4th of July picture and I found this one of Lexie in one of the outtakes - goofball!
After a few tries we got a nice one.

Once again we had a great neighborhood block party with food, a cake walk, a bike parade and one of our neighbors set up their water slide. It was a little cold for Lucas at first but he soon got into it!

He went down many times! Lexie on the other hand would climb up a few rungs on the ladder and then come back down. She never did make it down the slide but she still had fun getting wet! She especially liked it when the big kids went off to do other things and she had it to herself.

Sampling the cake walk treats : )

Getting a little help from cousin Tyler during the bike parade (and chatting his ear off the entire time!).
After playing on the slide for a while Lucas took a quick nap but then he was up and ready for the bike parade.

Lexie Lou and her first sparkler. This was the first of many fireworks for the kiddos. Daddy and Lucas had a large stock of fireworks to go through and had a great time lighting them off. We stayed up late and everyone had a good time. We are fortunate to live in such a nice neighborhood with wonderful people to celebrate the holiday with.
