Halloween Fun

The week before Halloween the kids had half days so we went over to Mom's one afternoon and Grandma brought over pumpkins for the kids to carve.
Lucas was very excited about carving pumpkins this year because they did an experiment with them in his class.
 Sweet girl!

On Friday, Travis took a half day off work so we could carve pumpkins at home.  The kids picked out giant pumpkins and I got the messy job of gutting them!
Lexie started gutting hers but it was too squishy!
Lucas wanted to save the seeds so he picked them out one by one.
Travis wanted to try a new technique this year that he saw on Halloween Wars.

Little Lexie was sick and had to stay home from school.  She missed her Halloween party but she was able to carve her pumpkin before taking a long nap!
 Carving away!

Lucas made his own design and worked hard to get it just right.
 Travis' final creation.

Lucas decided to be the Grim Reaper this year.  His costume was pretty cool!
Lexie went as Maddie from her favorite TV show, Liv & Maddie

It was a cold, windy, rainy night but we went out trick-or-treating anyway.  The kids had a good time and got lots of candy!
