Get ready folks, this is a long one! So, we started out the holiday weekend with a day at the lake. Lucas was ecstatic to be heading up to Papa Pete's beach (as he calls it) and couldn't wait to get on the road. Once we arrived he immediately wanted to get in the water which meant I had to get in too :).
I got out the inner tube and got in, it was cold! Lucas thought it was cold too but that didn't stop him. Papa dropped him off the diving board to me and then we swam between the docks. It was great fun! A lot of his cousins were at the lake and he had a ball swimming and playing with them!
Grandma Janie brought cupcakes and let him decorate them. He thought it was great fun to add the sprinkles.
And, Lexie thought it was great fun to eat the icing straight from the bottle. I guess that is the beauty of being a grandparent!
Look everyone, I can jump!
The kids loved going out on the deck and looking out at the water. Lexie especially loved going in and out of the cabin!
Relaxing :)
I brought up a two-man boat for Lucas and Daddy to try out. I told Lucas I'd only give him his fishing pole if he'd give me a smile so this is what I got (hey, sometimes you have to resort to bribery when you are dealing with a four-year-old!). The boat immediately filled with water once they got in and they had to use the Diego bucket to bail it out!
Once they got a little more air in the boat they were on their way!
Lucas even did a little fishing :) All in all it was a great day!

Mom came over to hang out with us during our neighborhood block party. She and Lexie had lots of fun exploring everything. Here they are in the cake walk.
