Usually when it is time for school to start again I feel like it is the right time and am excited to start another school year but this year it really snuck up on me. We had a wonderful summer full of fun and I could have used another week! Too bad it wasn't up to me! Lucas, on the other hand, was excited to get back and see his new teacher and friends. The Friday before school started they posted the classes and Lucas was excited to find he got the teacher he wanted (based on the fact that she sang "Dynamite" last year in the talent show and she's pretty).
The night before school started we loaded up Lucas' school supplies and went to meet his teacher and see his new classroom. He had a lot of school supplies this year!

We met his new teacher, put away his school supplies and then he let me snap a picture of him in front of his new locker.
Wednesday morning he was up early, dressed in his back to school outfit and ready to go!

I love this kid and hope he has a great year in second grade!
I went with him to school to take pictures of his class on the first day of school. Most of the kids in his class were not in his class last year so he has a lot of new friends to get acquainted with.

I hope he has a great year. I hope he makes new friends and learns to take things in stride. I hope he learns lots and continues to enjoy learning. I hope he stays his creative, wonderful self. I hope he knows how much we love him and how proud of him we are!
