Preschool Open House

Lucas starts preschool on Monday, so today they had an open house to give the kids a chance to meet the teachers and get acquainted with the classroom. Since this is his second year attending preschool he jumped right to playing!
Lucas loves to build and has a great imagination so it was no surprise to find him in the block area. Today, he was building a dog house. Under the roof are two dogs. He does not like it when the other kids get near his building while he is in mid-construction (especially his baby sister!). This was tricky today because not only were the preschool kids there but all their siblings were there too! He managed to get it built without too much drama and was proud of his dog house.
Next, we ventured over to the scarf tent. Both kids thought this was great fun!

Lucas enjoyed playing with the play dough.
He did take some time to meet his new teachers and he also enjoyed seeing his friends again!
I have to say that while Lexie is at a fun age, she is also a lot of work! The first thing she found when we walked in the door was a pair of scissors! Next, she found the very sharp pencils, then another pair of scissors and finally she became obsessed with the sink. Since the sink can't poke out her eyes I was okay with it! Later she found some tiny balls and was not happy when I made her spit them out instead of choke on them. After a full blown tantrum where she flung herself on the floor kicking and screaming I eased them out the door!
And, off to a special treat - ice cream!
