Last summer we tried to take off Lucas' training wheels and teach him to ride his bike but he was scared and it didn't go well (although if he would have taken a chance he would have gotten it down no problem). So, this week I told him I thought he should give it another try. It took some serious convincing but he finally agreed to give it a shot this afternoon. At first he didn't think he could do it, so of course, he couldn't do it. But, we had a little chat and I convinced him he could do it and he should try again. Success!! After just a couple of tries I let go and he was riding around the cul-de-sac with no problem. He wanted to ride farther so we went down to the local play fields where it is flat.
He got on his bike, I gave him a push and he was off!
Riding like a champ!
He was super excited to be riding and he even learned how to get himself started.
After a couple of laps he decided it would be fun to pass Lexie and Daddy!
Lexie was having fun riding her bike too.
Lucas caught them and sped right by them!
He was having so much fun he didn't want to stop.
It was so much fun watching him ride.
Lexie Lou stopping for a water break.
Coming in from his final lap.
He is proud of himself for learning to ride and we are proud of him too!
